Panel Denim Shirt

Supplies:
Denim shirt
22" of material for panels and
collar and cuffs
Thread to match
Wonder Under

The pattern for the panels is for a size large denim
shirt. If you make a larger shirt, you will have to
add a little more all the way around the pattern.

First, pin the panels on both sides of the front of
the shirt by turning under on all sides of the panel
so you don't have any raw edges. Sew down with a
loose zig zag stitch all the way around.

Then with scraps of material to match the panels, you
can add the hearts and stars. Iron Wonder Under to
the scraps of material. Follow the manufacture's
directions for ironing on the Wonder Under. With the
panel material, you will make the collar and strip on
the cuffs so you will have to iron the Wonder Under on
that left over material too.

After you have the Wonder Under on the panel material,
cut two strips 17 1/2" long by 1 1/4" wide. One strip will
be for the collar and the other strip will go around the cuffs.

Trace the hearts and stars on the scraps of material
that has the Wonder Under on. Then cut all pieces and
pull the Wonder Under paper backing off. Position
each piece on the panels you had sewed on with right
side up. Iron on pattern pieces on the panel as
directed by Wonder Under.

Sew the pattern pieces on with a medium tight zig zag.

This is a little harder to make and takes more time
but it is well worth it. Happy Sewing !!!!!!!!!
